ROANOKE RAPIDS DESERVES BETTER!

For 16 years, Roanoke Rapids has watched its streets, businesses, and spirit fade under the same leadership. The signs of decline are everywhere — and the silence from City Hall speaks volumes. It’s time to turn the page. Roanoke Rapids deserves bold ideas, fresh energy, and a mayor who will fight for progress. The time for change isn’t next year. It’s now.

Vote Ephraim Brodsky on November 4th.  Vote for change!

ROANOKE RAPIDS DESERVES BETTER!

Roanoke Rapids has always drawn its strength from its people. From the mill hands who built its backbone to the small business owners, teachers, and neighbors who keep it thriving today, this town’s true power has never been found in offices or titles — it’s in the hands, hearts, and grit of its residents.

Yet in recent years, too many in leadership have turned their focus inward, serving the narrow interests of a few while the broader needs of the community go unanswered. Roads crumble, opportunities slip away, and public trust frays — not because we lack the will, but because those entrusted with our future have lost sight of who they serve.

It’s time to remember: the soul of Roanoke Rapids isn’t on a tax map, it’s on every porch, in every shop, at every game, and in every act of neighborliness. When we lead for the many — not the few — this town doesn’t just survive; it thrives.

Ephraim Brodsky is ready to fight for you — the working parent juggling two jobs, the retiree who’s earned a safe and vibrant community, the small business owner keeping our main streets alive, and every neighbor who believes Roanoke Rapids can thrive again.

OUR BUDGET CRISIS

Roanoke Rapids approved a FY25-26 budget nearly 10% lower than last year’s after revenue projections fell short due to accounting errors. In 2024, City Council cut the property tax rate by two cents per $100 of value based on those incorrect forecasts — and kept the lower rate this year even after uncovering the mistake.

To cover resulting shortfalls tied to those accounting errors, $2.2 million was drawn from the city’s fund balance.

Essential services remain funded, but capital projects have once again been delayed as the city works to restore its financial footing.

Ephraim Brodsky has a vision for Roanoke Rapids' future that involves spending the fund balance on capital projects rather than operational costs.  On November 4th, vote for our present, vote for our future, vote for Ephraim Brodsky.
